FIDELITY. CLARITY. INDIVIDUALITY.

ENSEMBLE L’ISOLA REPRESENTS THE BEST IN EARLY MUSIC SINGING

Early music has traditionally been recorded in a compressed and limited capacity; to cater towards lower quality speakers. Our recordings are immersive and experiential, requiring headphones or high quality stereo equipment.

L’Isola standard release recordings are ‘close-micd’, binaural and aimed at high fidelity audio systems in order to reproduce the unsurpassed detail and immediacy of the human ear.

ENSEMBLE L’ISOLA

[Lee-so-lah] is not a choir; it consists of 4-6 soloists. Consort singing, one to a part, is exposed and technically demanding. We strive not for ‘blend’ but for unity of sound, enriched by individual colour in a “creative democracy” which favours real-time artistic decision-making over predefined rules. The group hope you will experience the difference through sound: raw, organic, unfiltered, immersive

“A very special degree of quality…one moment in time”

A musical performance takes place in a church or chapel, with a group of six musicians playing instruments on a platform in front of an audience seated on benches and chairs. The background features wooden paneling, a small cross, and a framed portrait.

“A remarkable concert to a packed chapel”

“Matchless vocal delivery”
